Assistant Machine Operator-Drycast Concrete, Schlusselbauer Exact 1500 (Ashland, VA)

Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Sets up, operates, monitors, and maintains the Schlusselbauer Exact 1500 drycast concrete machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Adjusts machine setting accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion; machinery will be operated using touch screen PLC interface and other controls.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Determines sequence of operations by reading specifications and manuals.
Prepares machine for production.
Regulates machining by setting and adjusting controls.
Resolves production problems by altering the process to meet specifications, notifying the Plant Manager to obtain additional resources.
Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling the manufacturer for technical assistance.
Monitors raw goods and concrete batching operations.

Working knowledge of concrete mix design.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong team player and motivated to work independently.
Background in maintenance, covering electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics desirable.
Education, Certifications and/or Other Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
Trade school/apprenticeship training preferred.
Five years of related experience.
Willingness to receive training and eventual certification by the American Concrete Institute (ACI).
General knowledge of PLC touch screen hardware.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Be able to lift 50 lbs., pushing and pulling.
Standing: 85%

Visual Acuity: 100%
Bending/Stooping: 70%
