First-Line Production Supervisor (Hanover, VA)

Job Description
Supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers in a fast paced dry cast precast environment. This position is entirely a hands-on role requiring the ability to multitask and communicate clearly with others.
Essential Functions:
• Assist management in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedure, safety, quality and control, and performance management.
• Plans and assigns work.
• Implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
• Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development.
• Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Forklift and/or overhead crane experience is required.
• Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
• Employee training and development.
• Measurement of performance to goals and standards.
• An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost and employee relations.
• Systems and continuous improvement orientation.
• Quality orientation and attention to detail.
• Problem analysis and resolution.
• An ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong team player.
Education, Certifications and/or Other Requirements
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
