Job Description

Duties: 

Operate, troubleshoot, repair and maintain automated and semi-automated systems. Strong proficiency using hand tools and competency with hot work equipment and multi-meters. Also interpreting and applying information from operating, maintenance and repair manuals, schematics and blueprints. All activities are performed in a high noise, high volume environment.

Essential responsibilities:

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with machine operators, supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
• Dismantle defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
• Perform preventative maintenance. Inspects motors, gearboxes, chains, sprockets, belts, bearings and other related components. Lubricates and greases bearings, shafts, chains and related components to all equipment.
• Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits using schematics and Drawing’s. Including PLC, relay switches, proximity switches, multi-phase motors, etc
• Lays-out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
• Operates cutting torch and welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures. Replaces damaged or broken wire or cables.
• Replaces faulty electrical components such as motor starters, relays, motors, switches and position sensing devices.
• Diagnoses and replaces faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards.
• Have knowledge of A.C. & D.C. motors, controls and PLC.
• Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment. 
• Test runs all repaired equipment to verify repair and performance. Work proactively to promote teamwork at all Company levels.
• Use math skills to compute rates, ratios and percents and to draw and interpret graphs

Personal qualifications:

Willing to be flexible with work schedule by working various hours before and after production shift. Willing to schedule and attend meetings during off-shift hours. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to lead by involving others in decision processes. Demonstrated results-orientation and ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities. Sound analytical and business judgment including problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills. Demonstrated understanding of technology, including complexities of products, machinery, and costs. Ability to implement change. Ability to motivate others and encourage team development. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team

Education, Certifications and/or Other Requirements

Education/Certification:
• HS degree (GED equivalent)
• Certification/educational coursework in Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance disciplines.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• 5+ years electrical / mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and hand sketches and graphs.
• PC proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook and CMMS environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently; and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
