Richmond, VA – Americast has received top honors in safety at its precast concrete and pipe plants. The National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA), the Heavy Construction Contractors Association (HCCA) and the American Concrete Pipe Association (ACPA) have all recognized Americast for outstanding performance in 2005.
The NPCA has awarded all Americast precast plants 2005 NPCA Safety awards. The Harrisonburg, Virginia plant received NPCA’s “Excellence in Safety” award for its perfect safety record – zero lost time in 2005, in the category of 140,000 to 200,000 man hours. The Ashland, Virginia plant and the Halltown, West Virginia plants received the Bronze safety award for need this information.
The HCCA recognized the Americast plant in Chesapeake, Virginia for Outstanding Work Practices in the Category of Plant Operations for 2005.
The Americast plant in Hanover Virginia surpassed all other concrete pipe manufacturers in the nation to take the first place award for exemplary plant safety performance in 2005 from the ACPA. In addition, Americast received several other ACPA safety awards for 2005. The Hanover, Virginia and Charleston, South Carolina plants were both recognized for having a Zero Incidence Rate with Over 3,000 Days Since a Lost-Time Accident. The Charleston, South Carolina and Chesapeake, Virginia plants were both recognized for Incidence Rates Less than Eight, and for having Zero Lost-Time Incidence Rates.
