Sanitary Sewer

Sanitary sewer products are available to many governing jurisdictions in Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, and District of Columbia, including the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission. Various types of pipe connectors and joint gaskets can be provided to meet specifications outlined in contract documents.

Agru Sure Grip® Concrete Protective Liners

Agru Sure Grip® Concrete Protective Liners, whether high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene copolymer (PPR), provide excellent protection from bacterial and chemical attack.

Unique characteristics distinguish it from other liners on the market:

  • Large number of stud anchors (39 per square foot)
  • Shear resistance of 4500 lbs. per stud
  • Pullout resistance of 112 lbs. per stud
  • Back pressure resistance:

Rehabilitation with Agru Sure Grip® Liner

This liner system can be utilized in the rehabilitation of existing systems where corrosion and deterioration has already begun. Every rehabilitation situation has its own characteristics, so please contact Americast for assistance in determining the best solution to the rehabilitation problem.

*Americast warrants this product for a period of 5 years against penetration of hydrogen sulfide gas and sulfuric acids found in sanitary sewer systems; as well as leak protection from inflow and infiltration when personnel authorized by Americast perform installation and required welding. Manholes

Americast manufactures a wide range of sizes (36”, 48”, 60”, 72”, 84”, 96”, and 120” inside diameters) to suit many applications and provide connections for various pipe sizes and configurations. Circular components, at a minimum, meet the requirements of ASTM C-478 and AASHTO M-199.

Invert Channels

Americast uses a patented invert channel forming system to provide precast flow channels in sanitary manholes. Use of precast invert channels reduces the time and materials required to complete manhole installation.

Manhole Joint Gaskets

Manhole joint gaskets meet requirements of ASTM C-443. Our single step style manhole joint, when complimented by a rubber gasket designed specifically for use with this type of joint, provides ease of installation and proven protection against leakage. For rectangular manholes or vaults, a flexible butyl rubber gasket is available for sealing joints.

Manhole Steps

The steps typically used in our precast products are steel reinforced copolymer polypropylene conforming to the following specifications:

  • ASTM C-478 (Manhole steps)
  • AASHTO M-199 (Manhole steps)
  • OSHA STD 1-1.9 (Manhole steps)
  • Federal Specification RR-F-621E (Non-sparking manhole steps)
  • ASTM D-4101 (Copolymer polypropylene)
  • ASTM A-615 Grade 60 (Steel reinforcement)

Pipe-to-Manhole Connectors

Pipe-to-manhole connectors meet the requirements of ASTM C-923. Flexible boots are typically used; although, compression type gaskets and mechanical seals are available to meet requirements of various jurisdictions and applications.

Wet Wells and Valve Vaults

Wet wells and valve vaults are manufactured using circular or box components. A concrete protective liner or coatings can be supplied when required. Top slabs are engineered to suit required loading conditions and access hatches or openings are cast-in as required.

Ladtech Adjustment Rings

Americast is the master distributor for Ladtech HDPE adjustment rings for the state of Virginia. This lightweight (6 lbs.) yet rugged product exceeds HS-25 load rating
with a watertight interlocking seal. The product is non-corrosive, durable, easy to handle, and reusable. Ladtech, Inc. warrants the adjusting ring for five years from the date of installation.
